A delicious, fine-boned Dolcetto with a touch of the local heirloom grape Neretta Cunese. Fruit comes from her 1-hectare old-vine vineyard on a hilltop in Monforte d’Alba.

About the winemaker: Formerly the assistant winemaker at Cascina Fontana, one Barolo‘s most underrated producers, Marisa Bacher has now stepped out on her own in a solo project, reclaiming stunning 60-year-old Dolcetto and Barbera vines on a hilltop in Monforte d'Alba.

In a moment when many of Piedmont’s young winemakers are headed up north to farm grapes in the foothills of the Alps, Marisa is part of a small group of outsiders who have been lucky enough to stake out their own small part of Barolo and will help shape the future of this rich region.
