Lutum 2022 (Club Release)

We needed a counter-balance to the sparkling wines, so we turned to Leila and Benoit at Fontaine des Grives as there were a couple of bottlings we couldn’t fit in the last release. As we mentioned in the past, FDG farm mostly Bordelais varieties — here Merlot gets the spotlight here in the couple’s most intense and age-worthy cuvée, Lutum.

 Old vine fruit from the Dordogne's oldest organically-farmed vineyard gets a long maceration on the skins and the wine is Aged in amphora for one year before bottling. Deep and concentrated (notes of blackberry jam, cigar box, mulling spices) are balanced by a welcome freshness. This is perfect for the fall table!
