Langhe Nebbiolo DOC 2023
, Red, 750ML
A blend of Nebbiolo from two young vineyards — one in the town of Neive, near Barbaresco; the other in Serralunga d’Alba. The Langhe Nebbiolo appellation (the Langhe is the larger region that encompasses Barolo and Barbaresco) is the equivalent of a Bourgogne Rouge, typically an entry-level wine that is made to be drunk in the first few years while waiting on Barolo to age.
This is indeed all that and more on Marisa's first try — fresh, fruit-forward and ready to drink now. Very limited!
Region: Barolo (Piedmont)
Grape(s): Nebbiolo
Alc : 13.5 %
About the winemaker: Formerly the assistant winemaker at Cascina Fontana, one Barolo‘s most underrated producers, Marisa Bacher has now stepped out on her own in a solo project, reclaiming stunning 60-year-old Dolcetto and Barbera vines on a hilltop in Monforte d'Alba.
In a moment when many of Piedmont’s young winemakers are headed up north to farm grapes in the foothills of the Alps, Marisa is part of a small group of outsiders who have been lucky enough to stake out their own small part of Barolo and will help shape the future of this rich region.
